  1. About two months ago, each student in my class had to choose an activity from a list and do it within the next two weeks. Everyone was exciting about volunteering, especially because it would make the difference when we are going to apply to college. We didn’t have a variety of choices, so the excitement and dedication level got lower.
Although I really wanted to do something, I didn’t feel like spending my weekend in dirt planting trees, so the most convenient choice was doing some chores at a local animal centre.
It seemed easy at first. As I arrived there with my classmates, we were welcomed by an employee who explained in detail everything each of us had to do. I had to look after some puppies the whole day. It sounded like an amazing activity to do, I had ten little cute friends by my side for so long. I played with them the whole afternoon, I fed them, but then, the bad part ruined my joy. When bath time arrived, I thought it would be as easy as the rest of the day, but I was wrong. I prepared everything, but it was hard to make them calm down and let me wash them. Some people were just entering the place in order to look for a new pet when the disaster happened. The dogs jumped into their bathtubs full of water and soap and spilled everything on the customers.
I apologized for the unfortunate event but they started laughing and assured me it was fine. I started laughing too to make it look like a funny mistake, but I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me.
